GRL Busbar System, officially known as the Low-Voltage Enclosed Busbar System, is an innovative electrical connection solution designed for efficient and safe centralized power distribution in low-voltage grids and end-user power supply circuits.
Why do we use busbars instead of cables?
In traditional power distribution installations, wiring connections typically involve extensive cabling and fastening work. Installers spend much time drilling holes and tightening screws, making the process labor-costly and time-consuming. Additionally, the chaotic layout of components inside cabinets not only occupies excessive space but also makes future modifications or extensions extremely difficult. Complex wiring is not only visually unappealing but also increases long-term maintenance costs. Exposed cable connections further introduce safety risks.
To address these challenges, the GRL Busbar System was developed. Its installation requires no drilling—components are simply mounted onto the busbar in sequence, reducing installation time and cabinet space usage by up to 60%. Since no drilling is needed, components on the busbar can be freely repositioned or swapped, allowing for easy corrections even if mistakes are made during installation. This grants the system exceptional flexibility for modifications and extensions.
The system’s unique enclosed design ensures that all conductive parts are fully insulated from external exposure after installation. The GRL Busbar System significantly enhances installation convenience, flexibility, and safety through modular construction and a fully enclosed interface.
How to install the busbar?
As one of GRL’s flagship product lines, GRL Busbar System serves various applications in power transmission & distribution (T&D) and industrial automation. It contributed about one-third of the company’s total sales revenue in 2024. In March 2025, GRL Busbar System obtained UL certification, making GRL the first Chinese busbar brand to achieve this recognition.
With its high efficiency, reliability, and flexibility, GRL Busbar System is steadily replacing traditional cable-based power distribution methods. As smart grids and renewable energy systems advance, their applications will continue to expand, establishing them as a key technology for future power distribution.
