What is Photovoltaic fuse link?

In 1839, the French scientist Becquerel discovered that light can cause a potential difference between different parts of semiconductor material. This phenomenon is the “photovoltaic effect”.

In 1954, American scientists Chapin and Pearson first made a single-crystal silicon solar cell, realizing a technology that converts sunlight energy into electrical energy.

Photovoltaic refers to a photovoltaic power generation system, which uses the photovoltaic effect of semiconductor materials to convert solar energy into electrical energy.

Solar photovoltaic power generation systems can be divided into two categories according to the relationship with the power system: independent photovoltaic power generation systems and grid-connected photovoltaic power generation systems.

As a fuse link manufacturer, GRL not only specializes in producing square pipe fuse links with knife contacts, cylindrical fuse links, Hrc fuse links, NH fuse links, cut out fuse link, carrier fuse link, cartridge fuse link, but also develops a series of photovoltaic fuse link for photovoltaic systems, including DC1000V photovoltaic cylindrical fuse link and DC1500V photovoltaic cylindrical fuse link.

In the composition of the photovoltaic system, there are combiner boxes, controllers, DC power distribution cabinets, photovoltaic inverters, AC power distribution cabinets, and other devices.

The function of the combiner box in the photovoltaic power generation system is to connect and combine the photovoltaic modules in an orderly manner, connect the same photovoltaic cells in series to form a photovoltaic series, and then connect a certain number of photovoltaic series in parallel to the box.

This not only makes the connection orderly but also cuts off the circuit when the system is being maintained and inspected and reduces the scope of the power outage when a fault occurs without affecting the connection of the overall power generation system.

In addition to providing you with photovoltaic fuse links, GRL can also provide you with the corresponding complete power distribution scheme design.

The combiner box is equipped with accessories such as a surge protector, leakage protector, isolating switch, ceramic fuse link to provide isolation, leakage, and grounding protection.

The connection between the inverter and the AC power distribution cabinet is used as the output disconnection point of the inverter to protect the safety of installation and maintenance personnel and the inverter.

The photovoltaic fuse link we are going to talk about is also a DC fuse link, which is generally used in the DC combiner box of the photovoltaic system.

It can provide excellent protection for solar power equipment, environmental protection, and recycling. The PV fuse link can cut off the faulty string in time when the module has a reverse current.

The DC fuse link used in the PV module is a special fuse specially designed for photovoltaic systems. (The size of our GRL’s photovoltaic fuse links is divided into 10X38mm cylindrical fuse link and 10X85mm cylindrical fuse link, of which the voltage of the 10X85mm DC fuse link reaches DC1500V.)

It is installed on a special closed base to avoid burning between strings. The DC cut out fuse link can quickly withdraw the faulty string from the system operation without affecting other strings, which can ensure the safe operation of the photovoltaic system.
