A PV fuse (photovoltaic or solar fuse) is specially designed for solar DC systems. It is built to interrupt high DC voltages and arcs reliably. The DNPV1451, like other PV fuses, uses a sand-filled ceramic design to extinguish DC arcs (which do not self-extinguish like AC).
